Parcitank promotes a pioneering project for functional crops in vertical farming

At Parcitank, S.A., we have been committed for years to innovation in vertical farming as a way forward for more efficient and sustainable production. Now, we are going a step further with a new initiative that reinforces our commitment to health and agri-food technology.

We are preparing a proposal to collaborate with a university and companies in the agri-food sector to launch a pioneering project: the cultivation of plants with neuroprotective properties in controlled environment farming systems.

This innovative approach not only opens up new opportunities in the production of functional ingredients for health foods - such as juices enriched with plant extracts - but also presents an exciting technical challenge. We face the challenge of adapting our solutions to taller plants with specific light requirements, thus pushing the current boundaries of vertical farming.

Can vertical farming become a direct source of health? At Parcitank, we are convinced that it can. And we continue to work to make that vision a reality.
